Drawing on the methods and experiments of documentary theatre, film, and dance, Resistance through Rituals dares to place queer bodies in a public museum space in China, a silent but strong gesture using moving image, religious ceremony, and derivations of Yue opera (an all-female style of Chinese opera) through a queer lens of gender performativity.
