In Seed [], butoh dancers Jas Lin and Kyoko Takenaka embody the slow growth of a seed, shapeshifting through cycles of birth and death, love and grief. Seed [] is a meditative performance, an exploration of a budding friendship, a deep empathy of Our shared ecologies. Originally performed at Highways Performance Space in 2019 as part of Asian America: The Future Is Now, Seed [] was breathed a second life in 2021 in collaboration with Studio Love A Lot, re-imagining the performance outside of the theatre and in collaboration with the natural landscape of Joshua Tree safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.
